I Never Had a Barbie

I Never Had a Barbie

I realize that most folks think that as a child

I was spoiled

pampered, doted upon, treasured, cherished, Blessed, Loved

And for the most part, this is true.

But I never had a Barbie.

Excuse me? You probably said.

I can’t say I blame you.

But hear me out as I explain.

I promise not to disappoint you.

My Father who art in Heaven

Is Lord of All ... “ The Law” doth proclaim

Laws of Physics, Metaphysics, Mathematics,

Social, Chemistry & Biological Sciences

Lord of Lords by many Names

Hence every female is a Princess

Every man a potential Prince

It is all a Matter of Perspective

& where you choose to look

The Parents that gave birth to me

Fed & sheltered me, gave me dreams & hopes

Taught me all that I should know

Taught me how to stay a float

It does not matter what my Daddy did

By way of occupation

The only thing that matters in whether we were rich or poor

Is the level of his limitations

Rich Parents have lots to give but most of it is cash & stuff

Time is our most valuable commodity

Rich folks have too little to Give Up.

But what does it Profit a Man

To gain the World yet lose his own Soul.

What good is grooming a morally bankrupt Prince & Princess

To hate you when you go broke or grow old?

Have Not’s hate the Have’s resenting them for having nice homes & things

But everyone has their share of problems

Their own perspective and view of things

Everyone has their own Blues to sing.

Hence, I realize that most folks think that as a child I was

spoiled, pampered, doted upon, treasured, cherished, Blessed, Loved

And for the most part, this is true.

But I never had a Barbie.
